What’s Flat and Barren and Dry All Over?

Road-trippin to Lubbock.

This weekend I partook in my very first roadtrip. Traversing from Plano to Lubbock might not seem like a big deal if you live outside of Texas, but alas…tis!
I feel I must start off by saying that I didn’t get lost…on the way there.  I’m extremely proud of this fact.  I feel like everyone should applaud.  …I’ll wait.

Once I traveled the 6 hours across the state of Texas, I arrived at Raider’s Pass in Lubbock at Texas Tech to see my besfraaan Allie!  Since she’s all important and working now (and doing summer school.  That’s important too.) she didn’t really have the opportunity to come back to Plano this summer.  So I went to visit her and stay with her for the weekend.

However, she didn’t tell me she lived up three flights of stairs.  Totally wouldn’t have gone if she had mentioned that.  x . x

ANYWAY!  I got there and we went to Olive Garden.  Here’s proof:   After that, I was treated to my very first REAL Drive-In Movie Theater at the Stars and Stripes Drive In.  (I don’t count the time EXCEL blew up a movie screen in the parking lot at the MAC and showed Twilight.  I mean…would you?)  We watched Cars 2 (fun) and Mr. Popper’s Penguins (it had its’ moments).

On Saturday, we lazed.  Kinda.  After watching a bit of My Best Friends Girl (horrible movie. xD) we went to the Rec Center with the intent to work out.  Yeah, that didn’t happen.  But we DID dance!  I taught her a bit of a dance I learned in Ensemble and we “worked out” that way.  Afterwards, we went “swimming” (AKA floating in the lazy river three times around before getting out to lay out and tan).  Following that we went to Walmart (cause we’re classy) to buy gas, booze, and pizza (in that order).  Heading home, we watched Tangled, He’s Just Not That Into You, and No Reservations.

Sunday morning, we woke up and watched Tristan and Isolde (wtf!  DEPRESSING) before eating lunch at McDonalds (hey, I told you we were classy) and I headed back to Plano.

Might not seem like the most epic weekend ever, but I DID get to see Allie, my first drive in, AND it was my first real road trip.

We’re just going to casually ignore the part where I got lost and drove in a circle twice on the way home.  Hey!  I was only lost for 5 minutes and the signs SUCKED.  They said I had to turn!  I DIDN’T!  LIES!

…Moving on.

All in all, glad to be home.  I find it ridiculous, the sheer number of people who text me wanting to hang out during the ONE weekend I’m out of town.  How come that never happens when I’m IN town?

BTW, doubt she’ll read this, but props go out to Cort for not posting the new Deathly Hallows Clue Round while I was on my 6 hour car drive.  I was all worried I was going to miss it…but NO!  Miss Awesome posted it about 2 minutes before I got home.  Snaps (and Snapes) for Cort!
