Never Thought I’d Say This…But…

An accidental trip to the Shuk because buses are hard.

I miss the simplicity of Spanish.  All the excitement I had going into Hebrew has been driven out by 5 hour/day, 6 day/week intensive language classes with Gila.  I find my mind wandering.  I simply can’t focus for the long in the morning.  It really is a shame.  I DO need to learn the language.

Last night, I made plans to visit Tel Aviv next Thursday.  I’m going to visit an old friend that I’ve never met.  (Figure that one out. 😉 )  I’m going to get lost but no matter where I end up, I know that Meitar will be at the other end to pick me up.  Thank goodness Israel isn’t all that big and I pray that I can narrow down where in Tel Aviv I am.  Aren’t there important landmarks there?  xD

No But Seriously…Why Are You Still Reading?

I guess I’ll keep writing…even though not too much is actually happening.  My life isn’t THAT interesting.  I mean, I realize I’m in the middle of a completely different country…it’s the religious epicenter of the world…but still.  I’m just attending college. 😉

Update!

Following class today, I met up with Kate, Grace and Alex.  Alex is new…and young. o.o  Oy.  We went to a new market with an electronics store (WOOT!) and found a router (DOUBLE WOOT!).  From there, we hopped back on the bus and rode until we decided to get off.  Okay, that’s a lie.  We guessed which stop was ours and just happened to get off at the right time to walk to the Mahane Yehuda shuk.

I bought LOTS and LOTS of plums.  Omnomnom.

I also bought avocados that aren’t ripe enough. =\  Bought some pita, a pot, a pan, a cutting board, sandwich sized zip locks, and more pistachios.  (Even more omnomnom. o.o )

We then came back home and went our separate ways for an hour while getting ready for our epic movie night.  In this time, I attempted (and failed) to set up the router.  The instructions were in Hebrew.  Don’t lose faith in my technological knowledge!  >_>  I then headed to Grace’s apartment.  We had bowtie pasta with pesto and tomato.  Deeelicious.  We educated Kate on the wonders of Boy Meets World…  Can you BELIEVE that she’s never seen an episode?!  Crazy woman!  So we watched the pilot and then started Princess Bride.  Esther came over to join us for the epic movie night (because Princess Bride is SO TOTALLY irresistible!)

While I was watching Princess Bride…the ever awesome LEO figured out the WIRELESS!  So the second I get home from watching Princess Bride, I’m going to post this using my SHINY NEW INTERNET TM.  I still have to find a good name for it.  >: )  I must go on an epic quest to find the funny article I read about naming your wireless network a clever/witty/funny thing!

HELLO.  MY NAME IS INIGO MONTOYA.  YOU KILLED MY FATHER.  PREPARE TO DIE.

(Can you tell I’m totally still watching the movie now?  Cause I definitely am.)

—————–

I am now back at my apartment and have done a little research into clever/witty WiFi names.  Currently Pretty Fly for a Wi Fi and Hide Yo Kids, Hide Yo Wi Fi are vying for the top spots.  Gots ta ask the roommies before any ultimate decisions are made.  After all, this is a VERY big deal.  xD

And on that note…now that I have shiny internet, I’m totes distracted from things I SHOULD be doing…like showering.  I’m SURE I smell.  We were outside for HOURS today.  =\
