Only through sheer force of will did I manage to truck through the Earthsea Trilogy by Ursula Le Guin…but finish it, I did.
I don’t even know what to say. It took me five months (and seven days) to get through all three stories. I guess I could take a moment to breathe in exhilaration because now I get to start something that I might enjoy reading just a bit more. Or I could go shower. Both are necessary. Maybe shower first while I decide what to read next.
Either way. The first hurdle in the long and winding road that is 50 books has been conquered.
Now on to the next battle.
I get to meet one of my favorite fanfic authors next week. She just so happens to have two published romance novels as well. I’ve read one, but not the other. Due to these circumstances, my next book will be The Deepest Night by Kara Braden.
The Isles of Scilly off the coast of England are remote, windswept, and wild. They’re the perfect place for Ray Powell to recuperate after the toughest Afghanistan mission the military contractor has ever run. Except instead of the peace and quiet he so desperately needs, he’s faced with a beautiful American woman who instantly challenges his iron control.
Seeking her own safe haven, Michelle Cole is intrigued and flustered by the intensely compelling and irresistible man. As their cautious friendship slowly builds into simmering attraction, their hearts and souls are about to be broken open — if they’ll allow it.
Okay, sorry. This is not my typical fare. Thankfully, I’ve already justified the reason it’s on the list as #42; A Book You Own But Have Never Read.
I’ll catch you all on the flipside!
